Moto updating Droid to 2.1 “this week”

8 February 2010 110 views One Comment

Motorola has stated on their Facebook page that they would be deploying Android 2.1 to the device “this week”.  I, for one, am ecstatic about this and it makes me feel better about hopping on the Droid bandwagon mere months before the Nexus One came out. TechCrunch is reporting that this update should include multi-touch and Google Goggles (which has potential, but is still pretty weak).

For one reason or another, there is none of the “pretty” updates in the package.  There is no scrolling grid of apps or active wallpapers, but hey at least the functionality stuff is here.

I am not sure if I should be thanking Verizon or Moto or Google for this one, but all I can say is that I am glad that trifecta is coming through for us.
